THE FOURTH STAGE – 2

Today’s reading: Ephesians 1:3-10
God has chosen, called and consecrated us for the work He has reserved for us. This is according to the eternal plan of God for us, “as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him.” (v.4). We are set apart, called to be holy as God is holy, and sent to do His mission in the world.
But God has revealed His mysterious plan to us in stages. “He has made known to us the mystery of his will in accord with his favor that he set forth in him” (v.9). All through the different stages, God has been forming us, preparing us, strengthening us, giving us greater focus on the fullness of our vision and mission. This has been part of being destined for greatness in Christ. In doing God’s divine work of proclaiming the gospel to the ends of the earth, God has revealed to us “a plan for the fullness of times, to sum up all things in Christ, in heaven and on earth.” (v.10).
Let us understand God’s plan even more, as we now look at the various aspects of the different stages.

It has been over 39 years, and our work continues. Nay, it intensifies. God has prepared us for a time such as this, when the world is deep in darkness and the evil of sin. The call to holiness is even more critical. The call to mission is even more crucial. We are to be God’s holy warriors.
We praise and thank God for all these years, as we look forward to greater blessings in the years to come. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens” (v.3).
