2025 Hope Abounds Topics

Our Theme for the Year 2025

The year 2025 will be a Jubilee Year in our Church. It has been proclaimed as a Year of Hope. This is particularly relevant in the face of unprecedented troubles in the world today, leaving many people feeling hopeless and helpless. We indeed are pilgrims in the world, just passing through, on our way to our eternal home. But while in this life, we live in a valley of tears. The 2025 Church Jubilee has the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

What are the major troubles of today?

  • There are wars. While there have always been wars in the world, today we face the possibility of a devastating world war, a World War III. This can be triggered by the ongoing conflicts in Palestine (now expanding into Lebanon), in Ukraine, and closer to home for Filipinos, even in Taiwan and the South China Sea. Regional powers are involved, and nuclear powers may be sucked in.
  • The culture of DEATH advances, with abortion and LGBT at the forefront. This is being imposed by Western powers on the rest of the world. As to divorce, it is said that there are only two states in the world where divorce is not legalized—the Philippines and Vatican State; but a divorce bill is advancing in the Philippine legislature.
  • The woke culture, particularly gender ideology and transgenderism, is pushing its insanity on all of us.
  • Christians are more and more being persecuted throughout the world, including in so-called Christian nations. In the USA pro-lifers have been designated by the state as domestic terrorists.
  • Globalist elites are trying to impose a new world order that can enslave people, including pandemic treaties that would mandate lockdowns and violate the sovereignty of nation-states.
  • There are modernists within the Church hierarchy who put forth heretical teachings, and are focused on the city of man rather than the city of God. Many Catholics have fallen away from the authentic faith, and many are confused about what is indeed authentic faith.
  • Satanism has come out in the open.

There is much more, but the above suffices to show how the world today is deep in the mire of sin and misery. Woe to us all!

But, as we have seen that God is unchanging, in His love for His creation and His desire to bring people to eternal life with Him in heaven, there certainly is hope! Which brings us to our theme for 2025.

THEME FOR 2025

HOPE ABOUNDS

Our theme verse is Romans 12:12.

“Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.”

Our hope is in Jesus. We must cling to him and put our total trust in him. As prayer is our communication with our Lord, we must persevere in prayer. This puts us in touch with the divine. We are to pray fervently, not just in times of trouble, but at all times.

We pray all the more because as Jesus has told us, in the world we will have trouble, but he has conquered the world. So we are to take courage. We are to be at peace even in the midst of tribulation. We are to endure in affliction, knowing that we are yoked with Christ, and he is always there for us. He has already shown us the way of the cross.

As such, we have hope, and with such hope, we can remain joyful. In the midst of troubles, suffering and pain, we rejoice in hope. Our hope is abounding, and so we rejoice in the Lord always. Always and forever!

MFC Monthly Topics and Guide

In MFC, the commitment is for a weekly meeting, as part of a life-giving household in a chapter (Mini-MFC), one of which every MFC member belongs to. The members come together once a month for a CHAPTER PRAYER ASSEMBLY.Members should have TWO HOUSEHOLDS in a month. There should also be a CHAPTER TEACHING (perhaps monthly).

We release the following monthly:

  1. Chapter Prayer Assembly Guide
  2. One (1) Chapter Teaching Topic (suggested)
  3. Personal Sharing Household Guide
  4. One (1) Household Topic (suggested) connected to the Teaching Topic

Note: Other topics released Monthly and Quarterly

  1. Monthly Date night topics for married couples: Suggested discussion for young couples to enrich their married life.
  2. Quarterly Family Household Topics: Suggested discussion for the whole family to enrich their family life. Also to evangelize members who are not part of the community.
  3. Monthly Family LBS Guide: To encourage families to conduct LBS at home

Parts of a Household Topic

(In Suggested Monthly Household Topics)

  1. GRAB – This part introduces the topic in a creative manner. It is a light and interactive question that requires just a top-of-mind answer.
  2. GRACE – This is the main part of the household topic. It contains the anchor text from the Bible and a text that expounds the verse and the topic. It is therefore, important to teach and encourage your members to bring their own Bibles during your household meeting.
  3. GATHER – This is the part where the household members share their realizations and learnings from the household topic. The household servant processes the sharings after all have taken their turn.
  4. GO FORTH – After discussing everyone’s thoughts and realizations, challenge your members to apply their learning from the household to their lives. The Household Servant should check if they have done the challenge on the following meeting.
  5. GIVE – This is the part where the household servant talks to the covenanted members about tithing. This pastoral role of household servants is done once a month to remind everyone that God is Generous and that we have to be good stewards by consistent Spiritual Giving, our tithing. Personal Sharing Household Guide

There is a particular topic with the inspiration and inputs being gathered from the actual personal sharing. Ex. Topic: Pray Time, Question: How is your prayer time? The household servant seeks for the Spiritual Growth of the household members.

Three basic ingredients of a life Giving Household are worship, discussion/sharing and fellowship.  It must follow the prescribed times for each aspect.

30 mins – WORSHIP

  • Led by the Household Servant who is the worship leader, the Household members must participate actively in the singing and the prayers. They should be open to receiving and sharing the Word from the Lord. There should be words from the Lord (prophecy and/or Scripture Reading), Individual prayers of thanksgiving and petition. They must have the faith to know that they are in the presence of Jesus, and accord Him the praise and worship that is due Him.

60 mins – PERSONAL SHARING

  • Guided by a particular topic, everyone may share any personal blessings, challenges, prayer intentions, status of your relationship with God and with your spouse, or messages from the Lord that you want your household to know and pray about. This is gathering inspiration from each other, bearing each other’s burdens and sharing each other’s joys.
  • Sample Topic for discussion: How is your prayer time?

10 mins – CLOSING EXHORTATION AND CLOSING PRAYER / LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

  • As the spirit leads the Household Servant will gather the personal sharings and God’s words together and gives a short closing exhortation. During the closing prayer, the prayer leader will also pray over the birthday and wedding anniversary celebrants.

5 mins – ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Give reminders regarding the following: schedule of the next household, who is the next host; monthly activities; give tithes and other matters. Encourage journaling of God’s messages and leading.
  • Give: God is Generous and in response, let us be good stewards by consistent Spiritual Giving, our tithing. For Tithes Remittance of NCR Members: bit.ly/mfctithes
