FROM THE SERVANT GENERAL
OUR THEME FOR 2024
PART 2
OCTOBER 8, 2023
GLORY BE
We end all our various prayers with the Glory Be (also known as a Doxology). This is done for personal prayers, the decades of the Rosary, worship, pray-overs, Praisefests, community events, etc. We say, โGlory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.โ
With the second part of every Glory Be, How wonderful is that! And it is as we affirm this, that we rightly give glory to the Triune God. The Glory Be is not just a closing prayer (which it is), but is packed with gospel truths, as we shall understand more of in 2024.
One way of looking at the Glory Be are the various roles of the divine Persons of the Trinity. In the beginning is the Father, who is Creator. Now is about the Son, who came into the world as man, suffered and died, rose again, and by all these won for us our salvation. Ever shall be is the work of the Holy Spirit, who sanctifies us and accompanies us in this life all the way to heaven.
Do I hear an Amen to that?
